İsmail Ozan Demirel

İsmail Ozan Demirel graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University (METU), where he also completed his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees. Between 2007 and 2017, he worked as a research assistant, and later served as a part-time lecturer at Bilkent University’s Department of Architecture and Hacettepe University’s Department of Civil Engineering.

He also worked as an individual consultant for the Seismic Strengthening Department of the General Directorate of Construction Affairs under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change.

With experience in both academic and applied engineering fields, he specializes in the seismic behavior, damage assessment, strengthening methods, and performance evaluation of reinforced concrete and masonry structures. He also contributes to the preservation and restoration of cultural heritage buildings and has multiple publications and peer reviews in international journals and conferences.

In the insurance sector, he has provided expert consulting to loss adjusting firms following damage to biogas and ammonia tanks, grain silos, inflatable structures, and industrial steel and roof systems under operational, snow, and seismic loads.

He supports Verilas Loss Adjusting as a consultant in construction and structural damage-related matters, providing technical opinion, root-cause analysis, reporting, and evaluation support in structural damage investigations.

Muhsin Erbil Alp


Muhsin Erbil Alp holds degrees in Marine Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and SUNY Maritime College.

Since 2008, he has been actively involved in the maritime industry, serving on large crude oil tankers in various ranks from Fourth Engineer to Chief Engineer.

Following his sea-going career, he has held multiple positions in ship management and technical operations, overseeing maintenance, repair, and dry-docking processes. He has taken direct technical responsibility in the planning, supervision, and delivery stages of numerous ship projects.

He has expertise in hull and steel structure damages, machinery failures, class procedures, and certification processes, as well as in crane systems, structural damage analysis, and maintenance planning.

He supports Verilas Loss Adjusting as a technical consultant for marine and shipyard-related loss cases, providing technical assessment, evaluation, and reporting support based on his knowledge and on-site experience.
